Expanding scope to cover reliable operations, platform engineering and applied AI integration across multiple domains in Offshore Wind Generation.

Taken a more strategic role. Accountable for the architecture and technology direction of our Advanced Analytics products in Ørsted Lab. I make sure our platforms, architectures, Data and AI initiatives are built to survive and thrive through dynamic business priorities, technology shifts, organizational changes, and regulatory moves in various locations where we operate.

Developing others. Balanced the architecture and strategic alignment between the ambitions of the business units I represented and Ørsted’s enterprise technology strategy. Ran risk assessments, supported tender preparation, evaluated technology partnerships and contributed to seven technology-intake assessments. Presented a strategic technology proposal to the Ørsted Technology Board and secured approval.

2020–2024: Entered the data science domain. Architected and scaled Ørsted’s Advanced Analytics platforms with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers and developers. Brought software-engineering disciplines into model engineering and operations, while aligning with enterprise architecture and cybersecurity. Key areas: Industrial IoT asset monitoring, predictive analytics on Kubernetes, Kafka streaming, and Neo4j Aura graph analytics.

2018–2020: Designed Ørsted’s cloud-first operational data collection platform, integrating Historian, OPC, SCADA and Industrial IoT data. It introduced Ørsted’s first security-aligned cloud design for OT/IT convergence and created a scalable foundation for near real-time asset monitoring.

2015–2018: Moved to Denmark. Led the solution architecture for the Data As An Asset (D3A) program, delivered data intensive applications for wind-turbine alarms, energy production, outages and yield reporting. The platform established the foundation for Ørsted’s first Reporting Data Warehouse and Azure Data Lake. Ten years on, these systems remain in production and central to the business.

Taking on more leading role while coding 75% of the time. Served as member of Kuala Lumpur Architecture Review Board (KLARB). Adapted a simplified TOGAF ADM together with a group of solution architects. Co-created architecture and design principles, standards information base and artifacts repository. Architected and delivered systems for supporting and monitoring Denmark’s power distribution grid. Solutions included grid-outage notification services with ~2 million recipients and a large image data store supporting Denmark’s smart meter-exchange program with ~3 million customers. In this period, I was offered to relocate to HQ in Denmark.

Started working international. Joined Denmark’s state-owned DONG Energy to develop the PowerHub project, a smart-grid initiative within the EU-funded TWENTIES FP7 program, a major European research and demonstration effort focused on integrating large volumes of renewable energy into the power system. The program coordinated distributed generation and flexible consumption across wind farms, CHP plants, district heating, cold storage and other energy assets. My work included a European Commission demonstration package in the Faroe Islands, CHP production modelling, and integration with Danish and DK Transmission System Operators and flexibility energy markets. One of the projects I am most proud of.

Joined a global ERP enterprise. Developed the production and assortment-planning module of Infor’s M3 ERP. The module dramatically shortened the lead time from collection design to market release of fast-fashion companies. Imagine a design captured from a fashion show in Paris delivered to store fronts worldwide in weeks if not days. Gained valuable experience in delivering commercial software sold as products to thousands of customers worldwide.

My first take on larger enterprise. Worked across two commercial software products for the global fashion industry. On Fashion ARP, I delivered three global product-release cycles in a cross-functional engineering team, contributing senior-level development, code reviews, refactoring, performance optimization and serving rotationally as Scrum Master. Lawson was acquired by Infor.

Co-founded a tech start-up with a partner. Led the development and commercial release of Multishop Storefront. Performed continuous architectural assessments of latest technologies and how to achieve market superiority. Led team of senior developers, graphics designers, search optimization engineers and content writers for portfolio projects in Denmark. In the midst of the 2009 Financial Crisis, we had to close down.

Joined a 5-person start-up ISV. Led a two-developer team to migrate the LISA library system from VB6 to .NET 2.0/ASP.NET, owning architecture, data access design, and version control setup with Subversion. Contributed to product direction and refactored the presentation and data layers. Rolled out the system to five (5) major universities, including Ateneo de Manila, Fatima and St. Joseph Institute.

Fresh from college with limited experience. Worked with a small team and delivered three (3) HR and Logistics systems at HPC (HCG Bathroom Fixtures), including Employee Performance Appraisal System (EPAS) and the Delivery Document Tracking System (DDTS), from requirements gathering through implementation. Built with Microsoft and open source technologies.
